About the MSDG Programme

The Medium-Scale Distributed Generation (MSDG) scheme enables photovoltaic, wind, and mini-hydro technologies to be integrated into the CEB grid under a dedicated Grid Code. It targets non-domestic customers seeking medium-scale renewable energy generation.

Maximum Installed Capacity
2 MW per customer
Connected to medium voltage network (22 kV). Capacities greater than 50 kW.

Programme Status

The CEB has announced it will no longer accept new applications under the original MSDG scheme. The programme has evolved through multiple phases, with Phase 2 continuing to support medium-scale distributed generation as part of Mauritius' Renewable Energy Roadmap 2030.

Eligibility

  • Non-domestic CEB customers (commercial, industrial, institutional)
  • Installation capacity greater than 50 kW and up to 2 MW
  • Connected to the 22 kV medium voltage CEB network
  • Must comply with the applicable MSDG Grid Code
